It's going to be announced soon...this year has been rumored. Here's some links of supposed leaked trailers and such, but I think they're all fakes, but it does give us some inspiration of what the game could be like. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ybApy-AIKkwww.youtube.com/watch?v=WZNFopi0AfwAnd HERE is SimSupply's talk of what to expect in the next Sim game. Curtis's show discussing Sims4 HERE and HERESO what do you want in the game?

Better looking sims like in sims 2. The ones in sims 3 looks fake. Oh and also for EA not to mess things up but that's probably asking to much

It is important for the Sims to look...how would you say...realistic? They definitely didn't in TS3. In the original plans it was confirmed that the makers of Final Fantasy were suppose to help EA with how the Sims looked, but they disagreed about something so FF backed out. Maybe they settled their differences and FF is helping with TS4 ;D That would be AMAZING! Also hope that they make it easier to play for storytellers. Because TS3 was pretty difficult to control for us posing puppetteers.

The second link to video was a tv advert a year or two ago, for a hotel or a bank, or home furnishings or something. It even had most of the same text I think. Cos I remember seeing it and thinking it looked Sims like, but it wasn't. If EA did the adverts or leaked potential trailers they would be tremendously better than these are.

I knew they weren't trailers for the sims when I first watched them because they lacked the one thing that has always been apart of the sim series. Comedy. They have always had some sort of comedy in their trailers.

(REposted from Sounds of Hell, because I don't want to retype everything...yeah lazy, I know.) Oh, you've heard the announcement already so I'm not going to act like you haven't. And if you haven't, well be educated. Sims4 has been announced! I'm going to be one of those outrageous fans and say, I'm excited. No, the real type of excited that came before Sims3 was bought and played. I have to give every new game a chance after all. We got a lot of veterans from the first two games coming in and working on this. But with the Simcity (fully Maxis) disaster of online connection, I am proud to tell you all: This right, you don't have to be on the internet to play your favorite game series's new addition. Thank Buda right? At some point in time, I am sure, they will make some "special" addition to be online. Why? Well, some people actually want to play with their friends. My friends wouldn't want to play with me though...I would end up destroying their lovely neighborhoods because I'm very destructive. Go figure. Oh and by-the-way, don't use those Simmies in the picture as the "final project" because I'm sure they are just some test subjects they threw up real quick. I'm just glad these test subjects' eyes aren't so soulless. Now let's talk about something contreversal. When do you think the time period will be? Before Sunset Valley, after Pleasantview, sometime in-between? I don't know yet. I would like to see some friendly faces: The Goths, Calientes, Olive (always), hell, even ol' Crumplebottom. Definite wants in BaseGame (because wanting certain EPs in BG is just ridiculous on a marketing scale): >Keep the F'in Aliens in BG, who the hell thought otherwise in TS3? Damn Stupid, that's who. >HEIGHT SLIDERS!!! It's time I think. TS2=CustomFaces, TS3=CustomBodyShape, TS4=CustomHeight(?) >Schools, doesn't have to be University, but definitely Elementary/High School, and maybe a Community College for adults wanting to further in their careers, such and such. >Multi-terrain neighborhoods, having rural and urban areas (with corresponding roads and fields) in the same neighborhood. >NO STORY PROGRESSION!!! Big killer to me as a storyteller. I don't like going to Sim A's house and playing for awhile, going to Sim B's house, have some fun, then return to Sim A's house to find them aged twice over and foaming at the mouth. Come on man! In TS3 even if you turned off "story progression," they still progressed without you. Don't like it, take it out! >And...most importantly...a game that actually runs smooth! I understand that an upgraded game will, of course, require better graphics and such and such, but if I have those graphics and such and such then the game should play smoothly, and not have problems at all in low performance. Seriously.

Sims4

So annoyed they are making a sims4 so soon. I spose it explains why they pushing the eps all out. One in October, another march, the next one in June/July I think it is. My computer barely manages to keep up with Sims 3 in large hoods. Or after 2 or 3 generations even in a small hood I have to move hoods completely or face error 12 constantly. Even then error 12 lurks around the corner, if I have indecency to try and change appearance or plan a new wardrobe it crashes. Or don't save before and immediately after a birthday/birth/death.
One I love story progression. Best part of Sims 3 is the story progression. I love Legacy challenges, and in the Sims 2 I always hated having to go round the whole hood and play all the spares so that people could have enough grandkids. Although that story progression could have been a whole lot better, because without a mod like Twallens in, blood related sims to my active house never had kids. Or married. Cos apparently that is all linked in with how many beds, and cribs the house has. If there is no double bed they won't marry. And if there isn't a crib they wont have a baby. Stupid.I want a better story progression. I don't want this whole being able to see into the schools etc, it will be too high maintenance. I like that when they go to school/work there is a few hours free to concentrate on the ones still at home. I want aliens, otherwise I hate supernaturals, I play them once for a bout a sims weeks and then they all bore me. They are all too high maintenance, aliens are the exceptions as they are just like normal sims. Although the alien abductions in Sims 3 are abysmal. They don't even have to be stargazing. There my Sims was reading a skill book inside on the sofa, and she gets the action auto cancelled out and goes running outside to be abducted, and I can't even cancel the interaction. And weather gets old quickly so I don't think I'm even bothered about. And certainly no pets ruins everything, just like vampires. And I'm the kind of girl who buys all the ep's regardless of whether she likes the idea of them just because. And then regreats it cos it ruins the game. So pets, Supernatural, Superstar, Late Night (for the most part), World adventures, half of ambitions, parts of generations (al the grounding and scolding for being alte for school, and the constant wanting to read/be read to sleep for children), in the sims2 university-but guessing will be the same for sims3-have but not got round to playing yet. Isn't that depresing I dislike most the most sims3 eps. Disliked a lot of the sims2 ones too though. At least won't be online.

The Sims came out in 2000, The Sims2 in 2004, The Sims3 in 2009, The Sims4 is coming out 2014...so I think it's right on schedule, but it does seem like Sims3 hasn't been out for very long. Where did the time go? In all of the errors and reloading, right? It is pretty bad that they are coming out with a new game before fixing the issues of the one out right now. Sometimes I think Sims3 was just a science project in a "what would happen" scenario. The game was a success I guess, but it didn't pull everyone from Sims2, which is a big "oh boy" in the gaming division. I don't play legacies so I guess I can understand your appeal to story progression, but I prefer to age my Sims just because. I'll have to get a new computer to play Sims4, because my computer couldn't handle Sims3 performance. I haven't decided what type of EPs I would like...there will be the usual bunch: University, Downtown, Vacation, Magic, Pets, and Seasons...some of which a lot of people want in BG, but that's ridiculous on a marketing scale and performance scale. I don't think our computers could handle that much in the beginning. They have to be slowly incorporated to trick their CPUs. (Translation of part of the text on the sign-up page) They say they are going to provide us with some type of tool for neighborhoods so I'm excited about that. I never really had to deal with rabbitholes, but the aspect of them being gone is somewhat nice.

Do I think it is too soon for Sims4...no, as long as EA does not rush production and the release of the game (as they clearly did with Sims3)! Do you, or have you ever heard anyone ever say "Sims2 is so horrible, I am switching back to Sims1" ?? Well of course not! BUT you most certainly have heard people say that about Sims3 and switching back to Sims2!
I am looking forward to seeing what Sims4 will be like, game play, decorating, the Sims themselves...and already have my mind set on buying it! Hell...I have the Sims3 sitting on my desk and I do have it installed on my computer (which I need to delete). Sims3 was just such a disappointment. Trying to decorate a house for a contest was so frustrating and had me in tears! A game that is supposed to be fun should not aggravate the player to the point of tears!
I just hope this time EA is listening to the possible consumers and will make the game as glitch free (as possible) and as enjoyable as Sims2!

Expansion wise for the Sims 4 they will just rehash the expansions for sims 1, 2, 3 like they always do. Each game has had pretty much identical ep's.Just with a new thing or two in each one to make it seem like we are getting a completly different ep to anything before.
