(Most of this is copied across from my "Tenebridge: A History" post because I'm incoherent tonight:p)
>It’s 1164. King Laurelus has just come to the throne. He is an evil tyrant who spends the kingdom’s coffers on drinking and whoring. Hawkland is struggling under his rule. Relations with the neighbouring Kingdom are strained: so much so that soldiers are guarding against an attack.
Anapolius Morton is a Sergeant in the King’s Army. He was a close confidante of the late King Charles but Laurelus has always disliked his: calling him a coward.
Then Claudius Ivarrson was murdered. The Ivarrson’s were on a visit to Hawkland from the neighbouring kingdom of Lochland. Anapolius was framed for the murder and fleed Hawkland that same night with his wife and young son.
They wandered the marshlands until they came upon an abandoned settlement. The River Tene which had been their guide rushed through here on the way (they presumed) to the sea. Laurelus was scared of the marshlands believing it cursed: he had always suspected that the people who went missing there was dragged down by some mythological creature.
The Morton’s and a small band of people who had rebelled against Laurelus were safe.
1253
Tenebridge is thriving under Horacio Morton, Anapolius’s grandson who had been ruling for 10 years now. They were discovered by a band of soldiers who told Roald of their existence. Roald, a good king, decided to make peace with them and Tenebridge became a protectorate of Hawkland, Horacio still able to rule but able to defend his land much more easily now.
1267
103 years after the formation of Tenebridge and 14 years after the protectorate was created, political tensions are rife. Amillica has slowly been invading the surrounding lands and rumour has it that Hawkland and Tenebridge are next. This is the ultimate challenge for 2 kingdoms who are just getting used to each other. Meanwhile, what is going on with Lochland in the west?
Tenebridge is not just a romantic story though. There are romantic plots too. We have a bit of everything in this realm?
Interested? The story starts here...
